Salman and Katrina split -Not in talking terms anymore!!

Looks like, Salman and Katrina are no more together. They have gone their own ways and are not even on talking terms anymore.

Salman has been busy at the Mehboob Studios for Dabangg, while Katrina was shooting for Zoya akhtar’s film with Hrithik roshan, Farhan and Abhay Deol.

It was noticed that, they were shooting for almost a day next to each other, but they didn’t even bother to greet each other.

It was not only the ex-lovers who had cold vibes but Salman’s buddy Hrithik also didn’t bother to drop in on Khan’s set to leave a ‘Hi’.

It was reported that, the last time when they were in Mehboob studio, Salman personally went to Hrithik’s van and chatted with him.

I wonder what went wrong between them, but, all chose to stick to their individual spaces.

Deepika wins over Aishwarya at Cannes

Bollywood’s sex symbol Deepika Padukone gets a thumbs up from various designers for the perfect attire she was in – on her very first appearance on the red carpet.

She stole the limelight from the experienced Aishwarya Rai who made many a fashion blunder at the Film Festival.

Aishwarya Rai, who has been attending the French film festival since 2002 as the global face of L’Oreal, has been drawing criticism from designers for her wrong choice of outfits and was only appreciated last year when she wore a white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli.

24-year-old Deepika was able to make the right choice in her first go itself. The young actress, who is attending the event as the face of liquor brand Chivas Regal, opted for a Rohit Bal — off white, slightly embroidered saree with touches of gold, instead of a western look.

“She was wearing a saree and I think that’s an appropriate outfit for any Indian diva walking an international platform. It was a nice off-white saree with a sexy blouse, making the look exude a good amount of glitz and glamour.”

Yuvvraaj Movie Review

Yuvraaj had all the ingredients of being a superhit – superstar cast, a director with a very good track record, big budget, great music director to compose music, exotic locations, awesome ‘look’ and that extra V and A in the name.

But why does this movie fail. The answer is simple, the formula is ghisa-pita (worn n torn) and outdated. Secondly – bad bad bad script. Ghai brings us again a family melodrama that may have worked in his favor in the 80s and the early 90s but not now. His style and his writing seems to have stagnated.

Subhash Ghai claimed in an interview that his work is heavily inspired from the classics of English literature. That definitely shows in the screenplay, the sets, costumes and the backdrop of the story. But that wouldn’t make up for the story and script Mr. Ghai. Looks like he made the entire movie for himself, as he pleased, as he liked without bothering whether or not it will make sense to the millions who will watch the film.

It would’ve been more appropriate for Subhash Ghai to make this into a silent movie rather than try and have dialogues that would make you hold your head in anguish wondering whats wrong with the dialogue writer or that would make you chuckle unintentionally purely because they sound dumb. Especially the one – “Jo bete ne apne baap ki shakal sapne mein bhi na dekhi ho, woh beta nahin, woh hardcore anti-family man hai.” I mean what the….

Anyway – Coming to performances and star cast. Anil Kapoor is the saving grace who manages to pull off fairly well in a badly written role (although I failed to understand what exactly was his medical problem). Zayed Khan had a stereotypical role whose acting abilities were just about enough to sail through. Katrina Kaif, looks pretty as she is expected to, she still needs to work hard on her expressions and ofcourse her Hindi. Salman Khan, needs a nice wig or a change of hairstyle – his performance is as inconsistent as his look throughout the film. He needs a crash course on acting and Zayed needs much more.

Salman Khan Is Unromantic Says Katrina Kaif

As they get ready for the release of their forthcoming film Yuvraaj, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif gave their first joint interview and answered questions about their love life for the first time.When Katrina was asked whether Salman was a very romantic boyfriend and she promptly replied,

“No. He is not romantic at all. He keeps it all for the screen.”

This will be their first serious romance and Katrina confesses that their ideas of romance are very different from each others’.

Delhi Belly waiting for Aamir’s Approval

It has been months now that Abhinay Deo’s movie Delhi Belly is ready and is waiting for Aamir Khan’s approval. However, the films release is going to take a long time. Sources reveal that, “Aamir was unhappy with the final version of the film and has sent it to a studio in Los Angeles for editing. With this new development, it does not look like the film will release till early next year.”

The English cast of this movie has an ensemble of Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Shenaz Treasurywala, Poorna Jaganathan and Imran Khan. A close source involved with this film says, “It is tragic that despite being made in record time of a few months, the film has been stuck on the edit table for so long.” Initially, Aamir was to spearhead the editing but he got busy with his own films. However, when he did see it, he was not thrilled about it. Moreover, he made it known. Since the film has adult jokes and has been made in English, he wants it to be edited like an international project. Aamir already had international distribution plans for Delhi Belly and he thought the film did not match his expectations.

Frieda in talks to be the next Bond Girl

Frieda Pinto may be playing the next bond girl. Earlier, there were rumors that the makers of the movie Quantum of Solace had approached Frieda to star opposite Daniel Craig. However, things did not work out, and the plan was scrapped. Now, the makers of the next Bond movie have again short listed Frieda’s name. If she agrees to do the film, she will be the first Bollywood actress to be a Bond girl.

Dostana sequel to hit the floors this summer

Famous filmmaker Karan Johar will start shooting for the sequel of Dostana, which is a lighthearted tale of three friends, this summer. The lead actors of this movie are Banished Bachchan and John Abraham. Karan recently posted on his micro blogging site Twitter, “Dostana 2 starts filming this summer. The final cast will be announced at the end of the month…of course AB and John lead the way.”

The filmmaker whose last release was Shahrukh Khan starrer My Name is Khan. Karan is still completing the last shooting schedule of his untitled film with Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. This upcoming movie is an adaptation of the Chris Columbus comedy drama Stepmom. Karan also posted on Twitter, “Sonam Kapoor’s last shooting day today for I Hate Luv Stories…one song with Imran Khan left and it’s a film wrap…summer release.”

Asin to do another film with Salman

Asin is to work opposite Salman Khan again after London Dreams! A source revealed that Asin has bagged the role instead of Deepika Padukone in Anees Bazmee film. The film will be a Bhushan Kumar production, and is a remake of a super hit South film. It has been said that Salman and Asin were close to each other on the sets of London Dreams. Even though the film flopped, Salman was still in touch with Asin. There was even news that Salman helped her to get an apartment in the suburbs.

The original movie is a Telugu film with Ram and Genelia in the lead roles. It was one the highest grossing film in the south in 2008. Bhushan Kumar confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we are producing the film and it goes on floor in June. Talks are on but I cannot comment on the casting.”

A US based gym launched in Pune by Sunil Shetty

Sunil Shetty launched a US based gym in Pune yesterday. He has launched the same gym in Nagpur before. Talking about his new business venture, the actor says, “It is called Anytime Fitness and I launched the first gym in Nagpur and one in Pune yesterday. I am in the core team. When the company approached me, I made it very clear that before I joined, certain conditions would have to be met.”

It is one of the biggest groups in the USA. In India, they are planning to launch 250 gyms in the next three years. The one in Mumbai will be launched next month. When asked what Sunil’s conditions he said were, “The financials are in place and it is a very cost-effective. The fees range from various schemes beginning from Rs. 399 to 500 and 999 a month. The gym is for senior citizens and children between ages of 4-17 too. It is a complete concept for me and what I say makes a difference.”

There will be trained nutritionists and dieticians who will monitor everything. They also have kitchens for moms to cook in, cooking academy, centralized kitchen for serving breakfast, with lunch and dinner. None of the gyms in India has all these facilities. Sunil Shetty dreams of making this country obesity free.

The actor also said, “The Indian cricket team has access to TRX training. TRX training has two cables and is freehand. It is exercising with your own body weight and it is very difficult. The good thing about TRX is that you can carry the cables everywhere when you travel. I am hooked onto TRX tracks and work out regularly six days a week at the gym in my building.”

Yuvraaj Spells Loss for Multiplexes

Yuvraaj after all the hype and hoopla especially around the real couple on screen turned out to be a disappointing film. Much hyped off-screen pair with their on-screen chemistry seemed dull and their performance seemed very thanda.

The film got a major thrashing from the film critics and upon that it fared below average at the box-office

Industry trade sources tell us, “The film opened to 30-40% in all the major multiplexes on Friday but the collections actually dropped down further as Sunday came. Then on Monday it went lower to a poor 20-25%. Later, as the week progressed one saw just 30-40 people patronizing its show in most of the multiplexes. At some places even in big cities, the response dwindled so low that the multiplexes were left with no option but cancel some of Yuvvraaj’s shows.”

“Salman’s last project, God Tussi Great Ho had met with almost a similar fate and it was necessary for him to deliver a hit in Yuvvraaj. But more than him it is the showman to be blamed for disappointing everybody, including Salman. It is learnt that some portions of the movie have been re-edited. But now its too late!” the source further adds.

Audience is the king: Ranbir

Lover boy Ranbir Kapoor has always played the role of a sweet romantic hero in almost all his films and hence the tag lover boy has been linked to his name.

However he says he is here to act and would be willing to take up any job as long as he likes the character and the script.

When people pointed out about him playing a sober character in Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’, he decided to clear it out.

“I am not a lover boy. I am an actor. I have had just five releases so far and when I got the opportunity to work with Prakash Jha and such a great ensemble cast I felt lucky. Plus I loved the story of the film and hence I happy to be a part of the film,”

An item song in Prakash Jha’s films is a must. He believes item songs in his films does not halt the story of a film but moves the plot forward.

Television actress Barkha Bisht will be Raajneeti’s item girl. Barkha, who shares a long-distance marriage with her husband Indraneil Sengupta, shot for the song last week, she danced to a sizzling track Ishq Barse Hai Boondan Boondan choreographed by Bosco-Ceaser.

Barkha is really excited these days. Says Barkha,

“The item song in Raajneeti is my big-screen debut. I chose to start my film career with a dance because I’ve been on reality shows on television and have the confidence to carry it off. Also, this is a big film. And I will be noticed. Better an item in a big film than a lead ina film that no one will watch.”

Prakash chose Barkha since he decided to go with an absolutely fresh-faced girl who can dance. His daughter Disha made the final selection.

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan compared to TV show Fear Factor

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan has been gaining quite a lot of publicity. Shot in the dense Chalakudy jungle in Kerala, the shoot was very difficult and so Ash, compared it to being on the show, Fear Factor.

Most of the time, she was drenched in water and mud.

Bollywood Actor Abhishek Bachchan has no doubt come a long way from where he started a decade back. Though he has managed to please the audience and critics in many of films over the years, his father Amitabh Bachchan still believes he can do better.

Apparently when Amitabh Bachchan saw the promo of Raavan for the first time, he quite liked it.

“My father patted on my back and said well done,” says a cheerful Abhishek Bachchan. “And then he turned back and said Aishwarya was better than I was!” he laughs out.

John Abraham Refuses to sport a Moustache

Bollywood Actor John Abraham plays a cop for the first time in Vipul Shah's untitled film co-starring Asin Thottumkal, a remake of the Surya-Jyothika starrer Kaakha Kaakha (Tamil).

The film revolves around a team of police officers who are experts in battling organised crime. For his look, John Abraham has been asked to sport a scruffy look and a moustache as well. However, the actor isn't convinced about growing a moochie and is trying to work out different looks.

Reveals an insider, "During one of the creative meetings, the idea to have a moustache came up. But John quickly booted the concept suggesting they come up with other options." In both the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, lead actors Surya and Venkatesh sported whiskers. As part of preparation for the role, Bips' Lucky Boy has also been asked to bulk up and sport a tough look.

The actor has sported a stubble and scruffy look in the past (Jism), but feels he can't carry off a mouche.
The actor taken a call on the final look for the film, but will have to make his decision soon as the film goes on floor in May. When contacted, producer Vipul Shah says, "We are having a look test soon. We will finalise the look after that."

Vidya Malvade floored by Salman

Bollywood Actress Vidya Malvade, who interviewed superstar Salman Khan for a show, was completely floored by the actor's grace and politeness.

"Salman Khan was extremely gracious and polite. Initially I was intimidated by his persona, but he is a real soft hearted person. I was in fact floored by his charm and wit. It was like a dream come true for me since I had always wanted to work with him and I am a huge fan of his," said Vidya.

Actress Vidya Malvade was hosting an episode of STAR CINTAA - Superstars Ka Jalwa, a joint initiative by STAR India Pvt. Limited and Cine & TV Artist Association (CINTAA). It is a fund-raising show for which 52 actors have come together to raise funds for needy artists.

While shooting for the interview, Salman Khan was asked to pretend to get offended by one of Vidya Malvade's questions and threaten to walk out. But Salman Khan refused to do so. Instead, he was his charming self, jovial throughout the interview.

Salman Khan in Dubai For 'Dabanng

Bollywood Super Star Salman Khan has been shooting for a Romantic honeymoon song for his new movie 'Dabanng' with debutante Sonakshi Sinha and for a change it is the Dubai Metro which is providing the backdrop.

"We are not going around trees any more, now we are doing it around trains," Salman told reporters.

"I play a corrupt cop from a small village in Bihar and Dubai was a perfect location, because it's a perfect blend of East and West," he said.

Produced by his brothers, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan, 'Dabanng' will release during Eid and will be the launch pad for Sonakshi, daughter of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, in the film industry.

"We are very comfortable here and the crime rate is zero. Even the Emiratis speak our language, they understand Hindi and speak English. It feels like an exotic foreign country, but you are not travelling eight hours or feeling handicapped," Salman added.

Kaminey is the story of identical twins. Both want to make big in their life and so in the race of life, Charlie goes on the negative side. He meets Sunil Bhope, who is a shrewd politician and Priyanka Chopra’s (Sweety) brother, who misuses Charlie and over course of time he becomes a bad man.

Kaminey is quite an interesting film as its socio-political drama, in which Amol Gupte is debuting as main negative character.
Vishal has really done a splendid role in his screenplay as for the first time it’s his original screenplay and not adapted by any Shakespeare novels

Kites is being touted as featuring Hrithik's most sensuous role till date. He stars opposite US-based Spanish model Barbara Mori.

The film is about an Indian boy's romantic affair with a Latina girl and their predicament as they do not understand each other's language. The film is about love transcending cultural and language barriers.

In the movie, Barabar Mori's character speaks only Spanish and Hrithik, a salsa teacher can't speak a word of Spanish. So he speaks to her in Hindi and yet the two communicate and fall madly in love. But then something happens that forces the two to split and that's where Kangana steps in, and there is a love triangle between them. Towards the end there is a thriller twist to the story.

The bases for the story is on an American dance competition where both Hrithik and Kangna are Americans of Indian descent.

Kangana's role is not bigger than that of Barbara's. Kangana plays a very rich girl and is also Hrithik's dance student.

The story is set mostly in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
In spite of all talks about steamy scenes in the movie,it is not about sex but an intensely romantic film.

Kites will be completed in January 2009

Reliance Big Picture have released the theatrical trailer for their anxiously awaited Mani Ratnam helmed film Raavan, headlining Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

The new trailer builds on the earlier teaser and has more footage devoted to Aishwarya (Ragini) and her on screen husband, South star Vikram (Dev Pratap Sharma).

Dev Pratap represents the long and heavy arm of law in brutal pursuit of outlaw fugitive Beera Munda (Abhishek Bachchan), who has abducted his wife.

The trailer opens with a dramatic sequence that shows an enraged Ragini’s challenge and plead with her captor Beera who is set to kill her.

Blue which is supposed to be India’s first ‘official’ underwater film is a thriller story involving crucial scenes by the lead actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar (who plays a fisherman based in the Bahamas) beneath sea water.

Lara Dutta plays the character of a glamorous beach babe and is paired opposite to Sanjay Dutt in the movie.The international technician crew consisting of Nickolette Skarlatos and Clarabelle Saldanha (who worked on Megan Fox in the Hollywood film ‘Transformers’ ) compared Lara’s look very similar to Megan Fox. My Name Is Khan

The film re-unites the super-hit jodi of SRK and Kajol after a hiatus of nearly 7 years (they were last seen in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001)
The film is based on a real life story where the protagonist, Rizwan Khan is suffering from a rare disease called Asperger’s Disease which causes physical clumsiness and atypical use of language. The film is set in the city of New York.
Jimmy Shiergill plays Shahrukh’s brother in the movie. Kajol plays the love interest of Shahrukh for the film.

Karan Johar, through this movie, wants to convey a strong message of humanity, especially about the treatment meted out to people suffering from this rare disorder. Through his character, Shahrukh Khan undergoes a transformation in his outlook about life and the whole world, while he is being held captive by some miscreants for a few weeks. The film will also try to show that if given right counselling to such people, they would be able to easily adjust with the society like any other normal citizen.

Hrithik Roshan & Anurag Basu Fooled Barbara Mori

The actress on demand, Barbara Mori, who flew back to Mexico on April 30, apparently, had tuitions in Hindi everyday on the sets of Kites. Her director Anurag Basu took the task of teaching her India’s national language. But, of course, Basu and his leading man Hrithik decided to play a joke on Barbara, so they taught her cuss words instead.

For simple English words such as ‘good morning’ and ‘thank you’ Basu taught the actress bad words of Hindi. “Initially she didn’t realise that she was learning bad words. Innocently, she’d come on set each morning and utter the bad words, that too at the top of her voice,” says Anurag. While initially Barbara didn’t realise she was doing something wrong, after observing everyone’s reaction for two-three days on the sets, she figured out that something was amiss. Later, when the actress was told the truth she was zapped, but took it very sportingly.
